Whitstable aim high
23 Apr 2006

Story Picture The 6th Whitstable Scout Group was the third highest collector in March and raised over £200 by recycling mobiles and cartridges. 6th Whitstable benefit from proactive parents and friends who donate all their items for recycling and also have a large local firm and a University collecting on their behalf. It goes to show that signing up local businesses is one of the best ways to increase the income for your troop.

The group celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2004 and their hall now needs constant maintenance and some of the camping equipment has reached its sell by date. Their Scouts Appeal money will be channelled in this direction.

Following on from their mobile phone and printer cartridge recycling success 6th Whitstable have managed to salvage some ex–army tents and plan to fix them up and reuse them, now that’s great thinking!

Remember, the first and second collectors in the lists will be earning an extra 15% and 10% respectively on their following month’s collections!
